BOSTON -- On Monday Night RAW, General Manager Eric Bischoff issued a "Gold Rush Tournament" to determine the No. 1 Contender to Batista's World Heavyweight Championship. WWE.com caught up with two of the semifinalists:

KANE INTERVIEW

WWE.com: You were one of eight selected into the Gold Rush Tournament, and in the first round you faced Christian. Can you comment on the match?

Kane: Captain Charisma didn’t stand much of a chance tonight against me. Did he?

WWE.com: Next week, you’ll be taking on Chris Benoit for the chance to reach the finals of the Gold Rush Tournament.

Kane: I think ironically the last time I faced Chris Benoit was for the World Heavyweight Championship, so I’m looking forward to it. It should be a painful experience for him.

CHRIS BENOIT INTERVIEW

WWE.com: Coming off the Last Man Standing Match with Edge you suffered a concussion, and now you got a chance to face Triple H in the Gold Rush Tournament. Talk about the match and the victory.

Benoit: A lot is at stake for me. I keep thinking back to WrestleMania XX and winning that the Championship. How I felt and the emotions involved after 18 years of hard work. My time is coming again. After what happened at Backlash, in my match against Edge and getting my head smashed with a brick, I would have had to have had both my legs broken to not to have gone in there tonight. I went in there and gave it my all. Triple H took advantage of the shape my body was in, but I came out on top. I’m very proud and looking forward to moving on.

WWE.com: Next week you have Kane, if you get past him you’re in the finals and will face either HBK or Edge.

Benoit: I don’t want to look beyond next week. Right now, I’m focused on Kane as much as I can. I’m looking forward to going home and recovering this week as much as possible and preparing as much as possible. I don’t want to look past Kane because he’s the next mountain I have to conquer.
